  1. Honestly I adored and still do KNOTS LANDING. I love the character driven storylines. Always character driven never plot driven. GH used to be my fav up until May of 93. Gh in it's heydey was rivetting. Not just for L & L byt Rick and Lesley, Monica alan rick Bobbie Heather Lucy Tracy all great. I adored Denise Alexander as Lesley, there was something so gentle about her, kind and loving. One could see how Laura was the same way

  3. I loved All My Children because a little old man that I loved dearly got me started watching. AMC always held my attention, and I loved the stories and characters. Since it's been gone, I've tried to support the genre by watching other soaps that shall not be named. I really tried to get into them, but I finally got bored with them. All My Children was really something special. I watch reruns on SoapNet, and it holds my interest more that anything else, even though I've seen it before.

  4. I grew up with ATWT and GL. Since they went off the air I started watching OLTL. I have to say OLTL was better than the ones I grew up with and the one I miss most out of the cancelled shows.

  5. My favorites when I was young were Dark Shadows & General Hospital since they came on after school. Then started watching The Young & Restless from day one & As The World Turns & Guiding Light I'd grown up watching & continued til they went off. And my grandmother got me hooked on AMC in the 80's, which I watched til they took it off. Now all I have left are Y&R & B&B. Miss the soaps so much!

  6. OLTL without a doubt! It tackled subjects other soaps had never done before starting way back in the 1960s and continued to do so. Always interesting, full of drama and even comedy relief (Roxie & David)and very well written and directed. I loved each and every character from the day it began. I miss it sooooooooooooooo much......

  7. Over the years, I have watched a wide variety of different soaps and telenovelas both domestic and international in flavour.

The first soap I watched was Search for Tomorrow on CBS because it was on after school and followed it to NBC and continued watching it. I began to watch Days and Another world because I liked the story lines running at that time. I have also watched Santa Barbara, Guiding Light, All My Children, General Hospital Bold and the Beautiful, Young and the Restless, and Capitol over the years. I do recall Ryan's Hope, Loving and Edge of Night.

The one show that had the strongest hold on me over the years was One Life to Live. I loved the characters, stories and intrigue they bought. I felt most at home with those stories. It was always blessed with a great cast and great story telling. Granted it had its hiccups but for the most part it had solid storytelling. The stories were not all the darkside of life but showed the lighter moments and even the whimsical moments. Loved Roxie and the different stand alone episodes that OLTL did like Babes behind Bars, Trading Spaces, and Grey Gardens.

  9. My favorite is One Life To Live and it has been for 40+ years. It's always been easy to identify with various characters, they've all felt like family. Second favorite was Knots Landing and now that it's out on DVD, I'm watching it from the beginning again.

  10. MY most favoritest show of all time is also my most beloved Soap Opera of all time... sometimes they are not the same show and for me it is the same thing and will always be the same thing. So here it is... my most favorite Soap Opera is forever "As The World Turns." For me it seems that "As The World Turns" became my favorite soap opera because it felt like home to me. Not saying other soap operas don't but it felt like the place you grow up your home town!!!!
