Favorite Actress: Susan Lucci
There have been so many incredible actresses who have graced the daytime soap opera screen! But, Susan Lucci is the Ambassador of daytime soap operas. Her portrayal of All My Children's beloved Erica Kane helped set the benchmark for leading daytime actresses. For me, Susan Lucci will always be synonymous with daytime soap operas.
Without a doubt Erika Slezak just admire her so much.
ReplyDeleteFor me it would be Kassie Depaiva, She has to be the most underrated actress in daytime. So great so much great work over the years and times she should have won an emmy she was passed over(the DBL back in 2002). i do hope she gets honored this time around. She is also the nicest person around such a fan girl so nice and kind to her fans.

ReplyDeleteVanessa Marcil Giovinazzo! Love her as Brenda Barrett and love her in everything that she has done. Of course she is part of my favorite SuperCouple Sonny and Brenda! SnB aka Vanessa and Maurice made me addicted to General Hospital in the 90's!
ReplyDeleteI am voting for all of the following leading ladies of daytime. Hillary B. Smith, Erika Slezak, Farrah Fath, Melissa Archer, and Christina Chambers for OLTL. Susan Lucci (of course), Brittany Allen, Eden Riegel, Christina Bennett Lind, Rebecca Budig, and Bobbie Eakes for AMC. And for GH, I'm going with Vanessa Marcil Giovinazzo, Kelly Monaco, and Julie Marie Berman. All of these women have seen us through too many years of joy and sorrow, in sickness and in health, through tragedy and triumph. From one generation, or many, WE are all their children.
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with Susan Lucci. Flo, you said it all. Also, I met her once, and she was so very nice. She was up on a platform signing her book, and my 87 year old mom couldn't make it up there, so Susan came down. She was jusst so sweet!
ReplyDeleteKassie DePaiva. I agree with Sheri that she is completely underrated. Remember the week of live episodes where she confronted Todd with selling her baby (maybe that was the Emmy year Sheri was referring to)? Just amazing work. She's always impeccable with her performance, and I adore the character because she is both good and bad and ultimately, very human.
